普拉汶．皮雷

普拉汶．皮雷（1964~　）是加拿大新崛起的藝術家兼作家。他有著南亞的血統，出生於南非，成長於加拿大，因此可從多重、斷裂的觀點來理解存在。皮雷的作品曾於國際與加拿大的藝廊與另類空間展出。雖然他在概念上是在當代藝術世界中創作，但也極積從事於構思集體創作，和在另類社群與未開發領域中發掘藝術。

皮雷曾於溫哥華的艾米利卡爾藝術學院接受正式的藝術訓練，最近獲得薩斯卡頓大學的獎學金，得以進入該校發展他的創作。他同時也擁有藝術學士與管理學碩士的學位。普拉汶的作品介於觀念藝術與直觀藝術之間。他從我們被建構的概念存有現實中找出他能發揮的切入點。記憶、時間和意識是他作品時常出現的主題。

Pravin Pillay

Pravin Pillay is an emerging artist and writer based in Canada. Born in South Africa, raised in Canada, and of South Asian ancestry, he understands existence from multiple and sometimes fractured perspectives. Pravin has exhibited internationally and in Canada in both galleries and non-traditional environments. Although he works conceptually in the contemporary art world, he also finds his art practice invigorated by designing collaborative works and delving into art for alternate community and wilderness spaces.

Pravin received his formal art training at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver and has recently received a fellowship to develop his creative ideas at the University of Saskatoon. He also holds a Bachelor of Art and Science and an MBA. Pravin’s work plays in the space between conceptual and intuitive art. He explores the access points to the reality that lies within our constructed conceptual existence. Memory, time, and consciousness are common themes that surface in his work.
